5 Ways To Avoid Emotional Burnout As A Lightworker/Empath

As a Lightworker and Empath do you ever feel that you get to that point where you feel totally overwhelmed by life?! It's not surprising really, as not only are you dealing with the normal day to day tasks of life, but you're also feeling the emotions of people, situations and even world events so deeply in your soul. As well as this, to top it all off, you may have an inner passion to take action and make the world a better place yet lack the energy to do this. Often these kind of feelings can make life challenging for a Lightworker/Empath, some have experienced feelings of low mood, anxiety, depression or health problems which can all manifest through energy overload.
 
However you DO have the strength and resilience to get through this and with committing some time and energy to your soul, you really can start to bring yourself back into balance! It takes daily dedication, but even a small amount of time in the day committed to this can make a difference.
 
I have experienced all of the above over the years, and it has felt draining at times! However the following advice I have personally used, and it has really helped me to cope with daily life. I still get tired at times, but my energy levels are much improved-
 
1-       Have firm boundaries!
 
Just because you're a Lightworker/Empath it does not mean that you cannot also say no! In fact saying no can help to keep your energy levels high, so that you can put energy into areas that you feel are an important part of your life and what you feel passionate about. When you have boundaries you are also respecting yourself as a soul, and self-care is the number one priority to avoid emotional burn out. Be realistic and honest with yourself about what you can and can't cope with. As a Lightworker and Empath, you may feel the innate need to want to help everyone you come into contact with, however you need to recognise what is a realistic expectation that someone requests, and if you are able to manage the situation whilst still staying balanced in your own spirit. It can help to write your boundaries down. When a situation arises, check with your boundaries, go with your intuition and say no (or yes!) when necessary.
 
2-       Check in with your soul!
 
The best guide to helping you know if a situation is right for you, is your intuition and soul. This is the place where you will be able to create boundaries and through having a strong connection with your soul you will understand your spiritual needs. Perhaps you've been putting too much focus on certain areas of your life instead of focusing on what's important for your soul? maybe you're in need of a break and haven't been listening to those inner nudges? maybe you have a passion you'd like to follow but haven't given it enough time to pursue? Maybe you need to spend more time in nature?. When you create regular communication with that inner part of yourself, you will find that it guides you to the right care and attention that your soul and your energy field needs at this time. This is a great way to avoid burn out, just be sure to follow the guidance that surfaces. Start by giving yourself just 5 minutes a day to 'check in' with how your soul feels. To do this go somewhere quiet where you won't be disturbed and focus on your heart area. If any mind chatter comes in, acknowledge it but don't focus on it, let it pass like clouds in the sky. Once you do this regularly, your mind chatter will become less and your soul voice and feelings will become stronger.
 
3-     Take yourself out of negative situations (at least for some of the day!)
 
This can be difficult if you live or work around negative people who may drain your energy, especially with having such a high energetic sensitivity. However it's important that you honour yourself and give yourself at least a few hours of peace, away from negative influences, so that you can experience the joy of your spirit and express yourself freely. If this means leaving the environment for a walk, or visiting a positive family member or friend, then do it! Connections with other positive people can also really lift your energy and laughter can enlighten the soul. Doing this regularly will help you to avoid burn out.
 
4-          Cleanse and energise your energy field!
 
You may have heard this many times before, but it is important when you are sensitive to the energy around you. Emotions and energy can even be picked up through the media such as TV, as well as through the people and situations that you're around, and it's important that you cleanse your energy field of any fear based emotions. There are many great energy cleansing meditations on youtube that can help you with this, find the one that is right for you and try to do it daily. To simplify this if you don't have time to listen to a meditation, you can even just visualise a sacred healing shower passing in and around your energy field, as you have your daily shower in the morning. Visualise this washing away all lower negative energies and emotions, doing it this way can help it to become part of your routine. You can also ask the angels to cleanse and energise your energy field when you feel depleted or if you need a boost of energy.

5-       Do not overwhelm yourself with too much to do!
 
This is important, because as a Lightworker/Empath, you may feel that you want to help so many people, or learn so many different spiritual subjects to help others, that you overwhelm yourself with so much information and/or tasks that you want to complete! And on top of this you may also have emotions and feelings that you're feeling from people and situations, which can end up feeling as if you're carrying the world on your shoulders. This can put unnecessary pressure on yourself and very often when people feel overwhelmed, they can also suffer from depression, anxiety, and a feeling of not being able to cope. To work through this it's a good idea to make a list, so that you can reflect on what your priorities are. Also do not think you have to do everything at once! It is not a race, and it will all get completed, just take one task at a time and break it down into smaller pieces. I find that a weekly task list is helpful, and maybe just pick out 1 or 2 things from the list that you can realistically achieve during that week. Then re-do the list each week and tick off each action when you complete it. You may find that you need to persevere with this, I personally found that I had to carry on this list for a few months before I started ticking things off, but it paid off in the end, as I managed to de-clutter after 5 years of putting it off. This was just through using this weekly goal list and saying no to tasks that were starting to feel overwhelming.
 
These are just some ways that you can avoid burn out, but as mentioned in the article, the most important part is to listen to your intuition and your soul for this is your true guide. Remember that you are a powerful being of light, and you have so much potential to achieve your dreams!
 
Never let anyone tell you what you can and can't do, always follow your heart and visualise what you want to achieve with joy and faith. Your time here is precious and each moment you can make a difference by just being you and shining your light!

4 Tips To Help Make The Human Experience Easier!

​Life as a human isn't easy. We will all normally encounter so many different experiences and challenging times, and with the variety of emotions we feel, it can be overwhelming to say the least.
 
Being human and having the human experience is by no means an easy pathway, but what I'm going to cover today is how this can be made easier, how we can start to view situations from a different perspective.
 
Firstly I'll start from the knowledge I have gathered through the vast amount of books I've read, listening to spiritual talkers and through my own connections and conversations with Angels, Guides and Spirit.
 
1- We are all eternal!
 

You may already know this, but this is so important to understand during your time here. The strains and stresses of life can come from pressures and fears related to the material world and related to the future. For example the fear the media puts out can really make people live in a fearful way, worrying that they may end up in tragedy, the same way that other people have whom they've see on the news. Release these fears now and realise that you are eternal, and that you will normally only pass onto the other side when the time is right for you. This is a hard concept to grasp for some, especially if you have loved one's you've lost in what seemed like such unfair circumstances. But as you understand the eternity of the soul, you may realise that death is not the end, it is just the rebirth into a new body, returning home to a beautiful place and being reunited with the loved one's on the other side whom you had to part with when you incarnated here.
 
2- Many events in your life you planned out before you came here
 
This isn't meaning all events, since we have been given the gift of free will and choice. Events can change in some respects, however most of the more larger events in our life, are pre-planned. Sometimes it may take people longer to reach a certain event, it's kind of like choosing whether to take the short cut or take the long way around! but in some way or another the events will normally unfold if we follow our intuition. As well as the more challenging life events, these events can include promotions, opportunities opening up, having a family and meeting partners and friends etc. Life is a learning process for the advancement of our soul, for some it is also a place where they've came to help other people too, to be a guide and a shining light to humanity. But normally from what I've learnt, even as a human guide/light worker, you will also have life experiences you'll endure to give you the strength and insight that your conscious/human mind needs to be able to be in the right place to help others, you are also learning and growing through the life path you've chosen to help others.
 
Through struggles comes the ability to find strength, and this is something that all people will experience at some point in their lives. But know that although there will always be life events, both challenging and good, they are there to help you grow, progress and enhance your soul's experience. The most important part of this is to have fun and to not take life too seriously!
 
3) We are pure divine love
 
The reason I mention this, is because it is an important understanding that can help life to be easier. As you awaken to the fact that you are pure divine love, you will realise that life is easier. If you encounter negativity from others, start to bring awareness to the thoughts that this brings up in your mind and start to gain control of these thoughts. Anger, resentment, jealousy, dislike, annoyance etc, are all natural human emotions, yet you can start to choose which of these emotions you allow to be within you. Awareness is the key here, become aware of your conscious thoughts and question them as they come. Perhaps someone annoyed you and you have feelings of anger. Instead of going with this anger question it, ask yourself questions such as "where is this anger coming from, this situation now or an experience in my past?" "how can I now let this anger go, so that it doesn't effect me?" "is this anger productive in my life?"
Visualise releasing the anger and letting it go by breathing out the anger and breathing in peace and love. This may be difficult to do at first, but with practise you will start to feel calmer, more centered and at peace within.
 
4) Follow your heart and your dreams!
 
This is so important because within your heart and your intuition you will find your life path, the place where you will know and feel what it is you're here to do in life. As well as the life events we go through for growth, we will often have a purpose or a theme in life, this could be so many different things. For example some people are here to heal others (or themselves), some are here to be family focused, some are here to work with the public to bring peace in their hearts, some are here to help children, some are here to bring art to people, and the list goes on! You may wonder, but what is my purpose? The answer is within your soul, and the way to access the answer is to ask yourself, what do you love doing? What is it you do and time passes so fast? What do you feel passionate about? Start to become aware of what you love and what brings you joy within. This can help you to start tapping into your what you truly wish to do.
 
One regret that older people had when it was there time to passing, is that they didn't regret the things they did do but the things they didn't! So live life, enjoy life and have fun. Follow your heart and take action on what feels right within, do not allow fears nor negative thoughts to hold you back from achieving what you truly want to achieve. You have the power of the universe within you, you are more than what you've ever realised you are. So write down some goals, short term and long term, and start ticking them off as you complete them.

A Simple Technique For Empath's & Sensitive People To Release Emotions

Being so sensitive and an empath isn't always an easy life, as not only do you have to deal with your feelings but the feelings of all those around you.

As well as it being a gift it is also so challenging at times because of feeling emotions on such a deep level. It's hard at times and often Having alone time is so important, to give yourself time to just be you and to not have energy of other people around you, to give yourself a break.

1) Take some time out to meditate and really connect within, ask your mind, body and soul what emotions you're holding onto on all levels, some may be from recent situations or some from the past. Ask for these emotions to be brought gently to the surface at a time and pace that is right and manageable for you right now. You may find that you cry, or you may feel different sensations, the aim is to start releasing all emotions that you've held onto that weren't always yours in the first place (and some that are yours where you've been effected so deeply by situations).

2) Breathe in deeply and as you exhale release all these past hurts, emotions and feelings and ask for your spiritual helpers/Angels or just use visualisations to watch the emotions be cleared .

3) Try to aim and do this for at least 10 minutes a day, when you first start it can be a little challenging because you have to experience those emotions briefly before releasing them. But in the long run it will be worthwhile and your energy levels will start to increase.

Salt is an amazing cleanser and Epsom salt is a great way to cleanse your energy field and body (I add 2 cups to a running bath) and then have one after I've done the releasing meditation. I hope this helps!

Finding Life Hard as an Empath or Lightworker?      5 Steps to Help you Break Through & Progress

 I decided to write this article as I know that allot of people who are Empaths, Lightworkers and Sensitives have had the problem of feeling stuck or may feel overwhelmed by human life sometimes. I've been there too, quite a few times!

As a Empath/Lightworker, not only do you have to cope with the forever ending emotions that you're feeling from those around you (and the collective consciousness) but you may also be trying to meet the demands of everyday living such as paying the bills, maintaining health, looking after the family, working in a job, caring for friends/relatives, working towards your dreams, spiritual development, following your life purpose, the list is endless.

There can be allot to think about! And as an Empath and Lightworker you may also struggle with the concept of being human in the first place, as when you're so connected with your inner spirit and the higher vibrations of conciousness, every day living as a human may be a challenge at times; even simple things such as keeping up with good nutrition and the daily demands of life can be tasks that may seem daunting. And it can often feel like there's always SO much to do and think about in the modern day world, it can be easy to become overwhelmed with tasks, therefore it can lead one towards procrastinating and putting things off. As well as this you may even feel drained of energy sometimes.
 
So this is why I've put together some easy to follow steps to help you start to become focused, to prioritise and to help you become unstuck, because I do truly know what this is like! I've spent the last few years trying to get together my own spiritually based business whilst working in a job to pay the bills and trying to run a home/family and also dealing with challenges from outside circumstances on the way.
 
Below are some steps that have really helped myself and others to become focused on life!
 
1) Relax! You don't have to get everything all done at once! This is the trap that many can fall into, thinking about doing too much at once, and in doing so you may find your energy is scattered in different areas and this can leave you feeling exhausted. As well as this the overwhelming thoughts of having to do everything can cause you to put things off maybe often saying "I'll do it tomorrow!". Relax, gather your thoughts together and give yourself time to just be. Meditate, connect with your Angels and Guides and give some time towards your divine connection, for it is here that you will find peace, calmness and inspiration. This peace will then help you to unwind from the daily stress of life, enabling you to be in the present moment rather than in yesterday or tomorrow and this will actually make you feel like you have more time! As when you focus on being in the present, rather than being in the worry of yesterday or tomorrow, time will not run away with you so much. Then you can move on to step number 2.
 
2) Prioritise. I know I often mention about this, but writing a list of what you want to do is key to getting your ideas from your mind out onto paper, and in doing so you may find your life does not seem so daunting, or you can at least then start to focus on what YOU truly want to do and achieve in your life. After you've written this list, number each task in the order of priority with 1 being the first task, 2 being the second task, 3 being the third task until you have each task numbered. And don't put pressure on yourself to get this all done. Just pick up the tasks as and when you have time, step into the flow and enjoy the process! Focus on the moment of now and if your schedule allows it and you have the energy to do so, act on your current task in the present moment.
 
3) Ask your Angels/Guides for help! You may be doing this anyway, but have you asked about specific areas? For example, I got to a point where I was finding it really hard to prepare healthy meals, my mind was just so overwhelmed and scattered that I lost focus. So I put it up to my spirit helpers and my guidance was given, I was guided towards purchasing a smoothie maker and now every morning I have a quick healthy breakfast which contains lots of nutrition, and what's great is my daughter loves this too. Guidance may come in different forms for you personally, but somehow in some way you will be helped out. You can ask about any area of your life whether it's your life purpose, career, finances, relationships or anything else, however small, that you need help with. Ask and the guidance will come to you!
 
4) Have daily actions. But what I will also mention about this, is to not have it overly regimented or put pressure on yourself. The most important part of this is to focus on the present moment, so try not to worry so much about the timing. The way that you can do this is to just write down 2 things you'd like to regularly bring into your daily schedule. For example the 2 things for me are a morning smoothie and mediation. These could be anything for you, perhaps exercise, reading a book, working on your life purpose, doing your favourite hobby, spending time with your animals or anything else that you would like to bring into your life. Once you've established your first 2 actions (through maintaining them for 28 days) you can then bring in another one. Don't pressurise yourself about this and if you miss a day, don't let this worry you and just continue the next day!
 
5) Keep a journal/notebook with your thoughts in it. As an Empath and Lightworker you may be dealing with so many different emotions that it can sometimes be difficult to understand the difference between your own feelings and the feelings of other people. In keeping a notebook and writing your feelings down, you can then reflect upon your inner processes and this will help you to become more clear about what is yours and what is other people's feelings. As well as this, you'll also be releasing the feelings you may have built up through the day. A clearer mind will then be more productive for moving forward in your life and this will also help you to gain a clearer focus of what you truly want. You can also use this notebook to write down any inspirations, ideas or messages that you receive from your spiritual helpers as this will be divine guidance for you to act upon.
 
One more thing I'll also mention is the importance of being grounded. When you're on a high vibration it can be easy to become ungrounded, so grounding is an important part of being able to live on the earth so that you can deal with everyday living and so that you can also bring your ideas and inspirations into reality, rather than them just staying in your mind. So as a summary here are the steps in a nutshell-
1) Relax, give yourself time!
2) Prioritise, write a list of things you want to achieve and number them in order of importance
3) Ask your Angels/Guides for help with areas you're struggling with
4) Bring in 2 daily actions (such as exercise/meditation/hobbies etc)
5) Keep a journal/notebook of your feelings/thoughts and messages you receive from your Angels and Guides.

 
I hope that these tips have helped you, and always remember that you can achieve whatever you put your heart into! You have the power within you to reach for your dreams, but sometimes you have to start somewhere even if this is just small steps. Remember that even small steps will eventually lead you to new horizons and new opportunities. So relax, release the pressure and know that divine timing is also at play, everything will come together as and when it is meant to.
 
Step into the synchronised dance of life and you will see doors open up in front of you in wonderful ways. You are ready now to take those next steps, so grab yourself a piece of paper and pen and start writing that list of what you truly want to do in your life (then prioritise it!)

Do You Feel Stuck In Life? This Could Be Why

Do you ever feel that there is something else you could be doing in your life or perhaps feel stuck at times with moving forwards? 

Within our society, we have become conditioned from a very early age about the goals we 'should' have and what we 'should' achieve in our lives. Our spiritual and emotional well being is often not included within the material focuses that are pumped into us from an early age, and many people may feel an emptiness because of having to constantly achieve material goals, which are void of the depth that our souls seek. This is not to say that some material goals are negative, quite the contrary as we need the material goals to create the balance in our lives as a human being with physical needs. But it is the spiritual and emotional welfare of people that is often left neglected and unfulfilled within the society many of us are living in.

So today is the time to start taking responsibility for your life, for your emotional well being and for your spiritual development. No longer be a condition of your surrounding circumstances, do not allow your thoughts to run away with you, start by becoming an observer of them. Through observing, you will gain an awareness of your internal processes and thought patterns. This awareness will then give you the power to change your thought patterns into thoughts that will manifest blessings, love and positivity into your life. 

You see what is great about this, is that your thoughts create your feelings, so positive thoughts equals positive feelings! Where attention goes energy flows, so whatever you focus your thoughts on, will manifest within your reality. So take responsibility now to really start using your thoughts to create a happier life and remember that happiness is a journey, not a destination that starts in the present moment. To reach a sense of spiritual fulfilment it is also important to become aware of the needs of your spirit. This can be achieved through giving your spirit the chance to emerge, through having more control over your thoughts. As your spirit may have been over shadowed by the many thoughts running through your mind on a daily basis. 

To allow your spirit to emerge, spend more time in nature, as her energy can support this process, use mindfulness meditation to calm your mind and connect within. Using any form of relaxation that helps you to reach a sense of calmness in both mind and body can also help this process.

Also remember that we are so much more than what society conditions us into thinking; we are creators, eternal beings and manifestors. Our energy will always carry on, and this life is only a small experience compared to the eternity of our spirit, however it is a chance for us to reach spiritual fulfilment and to create positive change in our life and the lives of others.
